The case of the death of Debanhi Escobar, found lifeless on April 21st last year in a cistern at a motel in Nuevo León, has not made any progress since the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) took over.
This was denounced by the parents of the young woman, who expressed their disappointment because the investigation file does not show any of the forensic evidence and interviews that the authorities claim to have conducted.
“They said they are working on it, but we need to see the results of those forensic examinations and interviews,” said Mario Escobar, Debanhi’s father.
He added that he knows interviews have been conducted because family members have told him, although the FGR told him that they would subsequently include these results, while the death certificate, based on the second autopsy, could take two to four months.
