SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, SLP., June 10, 2023.- The International Court of Justice granted the request of 32 countries to support Ukraine in a genocide lawsuit against Russia, the highest court of the United Nations announced Friday.

It is the largest number of countries ever to join another nation’s lawsuit before the world court based in The Hague, Netherlands.

Ukraine’s government filed the legally novel lawsuit days after Russia launched its invasion of its neighbor in February 2022. The Kremlin snubbed hearings held the following month, while protesters carrying Ukrainian flags chanted anti-war slogans outside the court gates.
