MERIDA, Yucatan – This Tuesday there was traffic chaos on the Merida-Cancun highway, near the Holactun police station in the municipality of Seye, as two heavy vehicles collided and caught fire, leaving a couple of people injured so far.
At this moment, the police are removing the heavy trucks, and motorists are being diverted to secondary roads while the firemen conclude the work to extinguish the fire.
The events occurred this Tuesday at kilometer 32, when for unknown reasons, a heavy truck with sausage-type trailers crashed into another truck. One of the units ended up practically burned.
Several firefighting units arrived to extinguish the fire and fought the spreading flames. So far, two people have been injured in the accident.
