At 1:00 PM on June 3rd, Tropical Storm 2 was “named” Arlene and continues to move very slowly south of the Gulf of Mexico. It does not pose any danger to Yucatán as mathematical models indicate that it will degrade to a remnant low-pressure system, according to meteorologist Juan Vázquez Montalvo from the Institutional Committee for the Attention of Extreme Meteorological Phenomena (Ciafeme) at the Autonomous University of Yucatán (UADY).

On Saturday, June 3rd, hot to very hot weather is expected during the day, with mild temperatures at night. The state is expected to have stable weather without the possibility of rain. Winds will be from the north-northwest in Yucatán at 15 to 25 km/h, with gusts of over 40 km/h on the coast, reported the National Meteorological Service (SMN).

The Mérida Regional Hydrometeorological Center reported that for Yucatán specifically, maximum temperatures of 36 to 40 degrees Celsius (97 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit) and minimum temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees Celsius (68 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit) are expected.

The organization reported that for the capital city of Yucatán, temperatures are forecasted to range from 23 to 38 degrees Celsius (73 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit) with sunny skies and no chance of showers. For the coastal region of Progreso, temperatures of 23 to 33 degrees Celsius (73 to 91 degrees Fahrenheit) are expected, along with cloudy skies and no chance of rain.
