Several vehicle accidents were registered at the beginning of June, where the arrival of dozens of out-of-town drivers who didn’t want to miss the Navy Day celebrations in the port was a determining factor.

On Thursday, June 1st, the police operation began with the first accident in the area next to the marsh, as a woman on her motorcycle ended up in the hospital after skidding on the public road when she lost control of the handlebars due to an obstacle that crossed her path.

The woman, approximately 30 years old, was heading west in the city on a green Italika motorcycle without license plates. She crashed onto the asphalt at the intersection of Calle 39 and 86-88 in the downtown area.

The noise caused by this incident aroused the curiosity of locals, who only saw the woman crying and in pain while her damaged motorcycle remained by her side. Since the accident occurred around five o’clock in the afternoon, the woman suffered several burns from the hot pavement.

Both police officers and paramedics from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) arrived at the scene. Since they only found the motorcycle as part of the situation, their main concern was to ensure her safety, as the driver also displayed noticeable nervousness.

Through contact with her family members, it was determined that she be urgently transported to a hospital to rule out any injuries, while the motorcycle was taken into custody by the Municipal Public Security and Traffic Department for further proceedings.
