The Municipal Government works with public policies aimed at caring for and protecting families in the Municipality, primarily by providing them with basic services, public spaces that meet their needs, social programs, and dignified housing to improve their quality of life, stated Mayor Renán Barrera Concha.
During the launch of the application process for the “Housing Improvement” program in the community of Caucel, the Mayor informed that this action, focused on the 47 communities, involves setting up service desks to provide information, receive applications, and follow up on them.
Barrera Concha explained that this program will identify households experiencing moderate or extreme poverty conditions and lacking adequate housing, including overcrowding, absence of flooring, stable roofing, sanitation facilities, or toilets in the communities of Mérida.
The Mayor indicated that, with the participation of auxiliary authorities, the housing needs of the communities will be identified and incorporated into the municipal housing plan to coordinate the necessary actions to address them.
Barrera Concha stated that these service desks are specially designed to address High Priority Zones (ZAPS) and bring the services of one of the most successful programs of the Municipal Government to the communities, where there are many unresolved issues such as overcrowding, poverty, and dignified housing.
The beneficiaries of the program expressed their gratitude to Renán Barrera for bringing this service closer so that other people, like themselves, have the opportunity to access housing support and improve their quality of life.
