Putin assures that they do not detain Ukrainian minors

Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, assured African leaders at the Konstantinovsky Palace that he does not prevent Ukrainian minors displaced by the war from returning home.

“As for the children, children are sacred. We took them out of the conflict zone, saving their lives and health. No one was going to separate those children from their families. We were relocating entire orphanages. Everything was done legally because the administrators of those orphanages were their legal guardians.

“We have never been against those children being reunited with their families if their relatives appeared. There has never been any obstacle to that, there is none now, and there never will be. I assure you of that,” he stated.

This comes after the leaders of Senegal, Egypt, Zambia, Uganda, the Republic of Congo, Comoros, and South Africa, who seek to mediate the conflict, called for the children to be returned to their place of origin.

Western countries have accused Russia of kidnapping Ukrainian minors and placing them in Russian families for indoctrination purposes.
