The Secretary of Tourism of Tamaulipas, Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez met with his counterpart from Campeche, Mauricio Arceo Piña, to address various topics that have the potential to generate significant benefits for both states in the field of tourism.
First, Mr. Hernandez Rodriguez highlighted the relevance of business tourism as an opportunity for economic growth and development for Tamaulipas.
Both states have ample infrastructure and resources that can attract national and international companies, and through joint collaboration, the capacities of both destinations could be strengthened, generating more investment and employment opportunities in the region.
He also emphasized sun and beach tourism, an extremely attractive segment for both domestic and foreign visitors. Both Tamaulipas and Campeche have beautiful coasts and beaches that deserve to be promoted and taken full advantage of.
The joint efforts of both states will allow for a greater diffusion of these destinations, as well as the implementation of joint promotion and marketing strategies, which will translate into an increase in the influx of tourists and, therefore, an increase in tourist income.
Another relevant aspect addressed at the meeting was religious tourism. Both entities have a valuable historical and cultural heritage, including temples, churches and other places of religious importance.
By pooling their resources and jointly promoting these attractions, they can attract a greater number of visitors interested in exploring faith and admiring religious architecture, which will contribute to the preservation and promotion of the region’s cultural identity, he said.
“The governor of Tamaulipas, Américo Villarreal Anaya, has launched an ambitious project to strengthen tourism in the entity and position it as an outstanding destination at the national level, within the strategies established in the State Development Plan 2023-2028, with the vision of uniting states and promoting Tamaulipas throughout the country, it seeks to make the most of the tourism potential of the region,” highlighted the Secretary of Tourism, Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez.
Joining efforts, joint promotion and the implementation of shared strategies will maximize the tourism potential of both states, attracting a greater number of visitors and generating a positive impact on the local economy.
