The event began with words of the fashion designer and coordinator of the career Jenny Fuentes Puerto.
¨Today we come to invite you to the runway of the Universidad Modelo, which is carried out by the students of the sixth and fourth semester, which is called latente. We thank our major sponsor La Hacienda Monterreal Dzitya¨.
Following that, commented the teacher of fashion trends Gema Naomi Coral Santos.
¨Hello good morning everyone thank you very much for joining us in this in this press conference, this Friday June 9 we will celebrate and carry out the annual latent fashion show Runway of the Universidad Modelo. This is the event that is held every year by the sixth semester students and we have the opportunity to enjoy it again in person after 2 years of pandemic. It will be held at Hacienda Monterreal Dzitya and is a project in which fourth and sixth semester students present a collection inspired by the national identity, the idea is that students find that connection with our Mexico and represent and express it through fashion. What we will see on this runway are garments generated through sustainable processes and the creativity of all our students.
She also commented that the runway also has charitable purposes and will be benefiting the Amar del Sureste Foundation, therefore tickets were sold out.
Also during the press conference, students from the model university commented on their experiences during the process of designing their garments and on the collaboration with artisans from the different communities.
To conclude the event, the director of the school of design Cristian Rene Aguilar Perera shared a few words
¨We thank you for your presence today, also to our intimate hosts who gave us such a nice space this morning as well say the fellow teachers and fellow student finally the school of design of the Universidad Modelo for years has developed this type of activities every semester, during the pandemic we had the fashion film, now we have again the runway physically. This is also an opportunity for the students of our university to show the people the projects and have a clear vision of what a fashion designer can do that is not only limited to perform certain types of topics but as in this case touches themes relating to the great national identity obviously during other times there are catwalks that will touch other topics as well which is something that distinguishes the school of design of the Universidad Modelo.
¨What we will see next Friday at 7:00 p.m. is another example of the good work done by the students¨ he said.
