President Andrés Manuel López Obrador highlighted that the Tren Maya project preserves the safety of species in the southeastern part of the country, as it has 545 wildlife crossings, equivalent to all the wildlife crossings built in the history of the country.
During his tour of Yucatan, where he arrived on Saturday night and continued on Sunday morning, the President highlighted on his social networks that “the work of the Mayan Train is so grandiose and great – pardon the redundancy, but it is different – that in 1,554 kilometers there are 104.7 km of viaducts (second floors)”.
“In addition, it includes 1,502 overpasses and overpasses and, most importantly, 545 wildlife crossings, equivalent to all the wildlife crossings built in the history of the country”, he pointed out in his message, accompanied by a video of his flyover of the works.
The President’s visit, as he does every two weeks, began in the morning, when he left the hotel where he spent the night, people were waiting for him to make requests, take pictures and talk briefly.
Afterwards, the convoy set off from Colón Avenue towards Area Base No. 8, where he arrived to meet with Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal, who, hours after the meeting, shared details of the encounter on his social networks.
“This morning I met with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to follow up on the projects with which we are promoting the development of Yucatán, such as the Tren Maya, the Gran Parque La Plancha, the expansion of the Puerto de Altura de Progreso and other works with which we are generating more jobs and strengthening the economy of Yucatecan families,” Vila Dosal detailed.
“Great and big”.
Hours later, López Obrador published on his official accounts a balance of the aerial tour carried out yesterday. “It is so grandiose and great – pardon the redundancy, but it is different – the work of the Mayan Train, that in 1,554 kilometers there are 104.7 km of viaducts (second floors),” highlighted AMLO.
Along with the 2:05 minute video, in which some of the passages designed for the fauna of the region are observed, as well as part of the elevated area, the President highlighted the size and importance of the project.
“It also includes 1,502 overpasses and underpasses and, most importantly, 545 wildlife crossings, equivalent to all the wildlife crossings built in the history of the country,” he added.
The video attached to this text had more than 50 thousand reproductions on Twitter in less than 20 minutes and on Facebook it had 1,700 positive reactions (I like it, I love it) in its first 15 minutes, along with messages of support.
On Saturday, López Obrador released a similar video with a flyover of the airport being built in Tulum, which is 44 percent complete.
The publication had several comments. “It is a magnificent work that you, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, were able to make a reality, this will help millions of Mexicans in the south of the country to move forward and for us to have a single Mexico full of opportunities and wellbeing,” wrote user Marco Andrade Zavala.
For his part, Ovidio Peralta Suárez, who was the political delegate in Yucatán of Morena’s National Executive Committee for the renewal of the State Executive Committee, commented on the publication on Twitter. “In Tabasco we got on the train of development and progress with social justice; the Mayan Train,” tweeted the senator.
The work
As we have published, every 15 days the President travels to the Southeast to supervise the works of the Maya Train. Last weekend, he visited Quintana Roo, Yucatan and Campeche to meet with governors and those in charge of the works. The goal of the current administration is to inaugurate the project in December of this year.
According to federal authorities, the Mayan Train is the most important infrastructure, socioeconomic development and tourism project of the current six-year term. It will cover 1,554 kilometers and will pass through the states of Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo and will interconnect the main cities and tourist sites of the Yucatan Peninsula.
They also ratified that the Mayan Train is a project aimed at increasing the economic flow of tourism in the Yucatan Peninsula, creating jobs, promoting sustainable development, protecting the environment in the area by discouraging activities such as illegal logging and species trafficking, and promoting land use planning in the region.
The trail of progress of the railway project will continue in Yucatan, as the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (FONATUR) will deliver today more works of its Integral Development Plan.
This, in Sudzal, where the expansion of three basic nuclei of its clinic, which will also receive furniture, was completed. An elevated tank with well and pump will also be delivered in the municipality.
