From Tropical Depression 2-E, Hurricane Beatriz category 1 is expected to form in the Pacific Ocean in the next few hours.

The National Water Commission (Conagua) reported that it is located 190 km south of Punta Maldonado, Guerrero, and 195 km southwest of Laguna de Chacahua, Oaxaca.

Its cloud bands will bring rain to the western, central, southern, and southeastern regions of Mexico during the weekend as it continues its path.

Due to its location, Hurricane Beatriz will remain in the Pacific Ocean and does not pose any danger to the Yucatán Peninsula.

It is expected to intensify from Tropical Depression 2-E to a category 1 hurricane by Friday, causing heavy rainfall in Guerrero, Michoacán, Colima, Jalisco, and Nayarit.

By Monday, July 3rd, it will approach Baja California Sur, where it is forecasted to approach as a tropical storm before weakening into a remnant low-pressure system.
