Heatwave extends across Mexico

Eight states in the country will exceed 45 degrees this week due to the heatwave that is spreading, as indicated by the National Meteorological Service (SMN) on Monday.

Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche, and Yucatán are the states that could reach such temperatures during the afternoon.

“A mid-level anticyclonic circulation will maintain the third heatwave in Mexico, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees in 24 states of the country,” stated the communication.

States such as Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, Chihuahua, Durango, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Morelos, Puebla, Oaxaca, and Chiapas will experience temperatures of 40 to 45 degrees.

In addition, all regions will have temperatures above 30 degrees, maintaining a hot to very hot environment.
