Environment: CONANP issues alert for bird influenza H5N1 in Michoacán, Mexico

COAHUAYANA, Michoacan., June 9, 2023.- This Friday night, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT), and the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP), began the diffusion of an H5N1 avian influenza alert flier on the Michoacan coast .

The advertisement provides information on the characteristics of birds infected with H5N1 avian influenza, warns that if a sick or dead bird is found, it should not be touched by any person or pet, and asks that it be reported with a photograph and information on the location to the Facebook page Conanp-Centro Mexicano de la Tortuga (Conanp-Mexican Turtle Center).
