Collective Hysteria at Merida’s Modelo School after shooting threat

A recently expelled middle school student made a shooting threat against La Modelo middle school, which has generated hysteria among staff, parents, and students.

The school administrators decided to evacuate the students after a former classmate in the third year of middle school threatened to carry out a shooting.

The teenager made the threat this morning after being expelled for allegedly engaging in misconduct and substance abuse.

Parents contacted this media outlet as they fear that the young person will carry out their threat since they have posted pictures with weapons on their profile.

There are police patrols from the SSP (State Security Police) in both the Paseo de Montejo area and the rear of the school.
