Clean-up campaign is carried out on the streets of Chelem

The Municipality of Progreso, led by Julián Zacarías Curi, carried out an important cleaning campaign on 14th Street between 15th and 17th Streets in the Chelem community, an area that had been used as an illegal dumpsite.

The mayor personally supervised the pruning, weeding, garbage collection, and general cleaning tasks. During the tour, he greeted the local residents, emphasizing that “the Municipality is always attentive to their requests. But it is also very important that we have their support to work together for the environment because the cleanliness of Progreso is a responsibility shared by all.”

The residents expressed gratitude to the mayor as these actions had not been carried out in the area for a long time. The street where the cleaning work was conducted had been neglected, causing discontent and impacting the residents’ quality of life.

In addition to the cleaning activities, reports were made to the Federal Electricity Commission regarding damaged cables and poles in order to request their prompt repair and ensure the safety of the residents.

Furthermore, Prolimpia teams, green areas staff, and heavy machinery operators initiated various tasks that will take a couple of days to complete due to the large volume of waste and vegetation.

Through these actions, the Municipality of Progreso demonstrates its commitment to the community’s well-being and the preservation of the natural environment. They promote the cleanliness and revitalization of public spaces for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.
