CFE causes closure of the Meteorite Museum in Progreso

The Board of Trustees of the Cultural and Touristic Service Units of the State of Yucatán (CULTUR) has announced the temporary closure of the Meteorite Museum located on the Malecón of Progreso on Wednesday, June 7th.

According to the department, the Progreso Meteorite Museum will be closed due to the work being carried out by the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) in the port.

Although it does not specify how long the closure will last, visits to the site on Wednesday, June 7th, were suspended.

Since the museum does not have electricity, which is necessary for the operation of mechanical dinosaurs, screens, and other areas requiring electricity for visits, they have been temporarily canceled.

It is expected that once the CFE work on the Malecón of Progreso is completed, activities at the Meteorite Museum will resume.

The visiting hours of the Meteorite Museum are from 11:00 in the morning until 18:30 in the evening from Tuesday to Sunday, as it remains closed on Mondays.
