Andrés Manuel López Obrador, president of Mexico, rejected that Va por México violates electoral times, after he announced his method for choosing a presidential candidate.

“I do not believe that the INE or the Court prohibit or prevent political organizations from carrying out their processes to elect the leaders of the movements,” he said this Tuesday morning.

He indicated that he does not believe that it is contrary to democracy or that it warrants sanctions from the National Electoral Institute.

Va por México, made up of PAN, PRI and PRD, revealed that they will choose a candidate through popular consultation, consisting of several phases, while Morena’s will be by survey.

The opposition appointed the position as Responsible for the construction of the Broad Front for Mexico and Morena, Defense Coordinator of the Fourth Transformation, so as not to violate the times provided by law for the start of the presidential elections in 2024.
