As part of ‘Yucatán Expone’ at the Zocalo in Mexico City, a “Guayabera Fashion Show” took place on Monday, as shared by Governor Mauricio Vila on his Twitter account.
This showcase allows the artisans from Yucatán to share and display their work on a national level, in front of Mexican and international families who can appreciate the craftsmanship and weaving of these traditional Yucatecan garments.
On May 12, ‘Yucatán Expone’ was inaugurated in Mexico City for the first time, featuring an exhibition of the best of the state, including its art, handicrafts, gastronomy, and everything that represents the region.
In just three days, over 80,000 people have enjoyed this exhibition. During the first two days, a record was set in the sale of cochinita (traditional Yucatecan dish) with the commercialization of over 2.5 tons of this delicacy.
