If the first Hurricane forms in the Atlantic Ocean, it would be named Arlene, according to the list provided.

One day before the formal start of the 2023 Hurricane Season in the Atlantic Ocean, the alert was turned on in the Gulf of Mexico, with the formation of a Low Pressure Zone that could become the first Tropical Cyclone.

The above was reported by the National Water Commission (CONAGUA), where it detailed this phenomenon was registered 355 km north of Rio Lagartos, #Yucatan and is moving towards the northeast.

It is estimated that it has a 20% probability for cyclonic development in the 48-hour forecast, so it is requested to be attentive.

It is worth remembering that last Friday, a Low Pressure zone was also registered off the coast of Georgia, USA, approximately 1280 kilometers northeast of the coasts of Quintana Roo with northward displacement.

However, this was discarded by Conagua itself as a threat.

First Hurricane of 2023

From June 1 to November 30 will be the time when the Yucatan Peninsula will be hit by these hydrometeorological phenomena, so be prepared.

Of the projected names, we already have the name of the first Tropical Cyclone of the season.
