On Tuesday, Donald Trump was found guilty of abuse and defamation against writer E. Jean Carroll, and he will have to pay her nearly five million dollars in damages.
“I have no idea who this woman is. This verdict is a disgrace, the continuation of the greatest witch hunt of all time,” said the former US president in response.
Trump has claimed not to know Carroll and has accused her of seeking only fame and notoriety with her allegations of events that allegedly occurred in the mid-1990s.
Since this is a civil trial, there are no prison sentences associated with it.
