MÉRIDA, Yucatan, April 2023.- The Congresswoman of National Action, Carmen González Martín made use of the highest tribune to make an exhortation to the senators of the LXV Legislature of the Congress of the Union…

To approve the draft decree that reforms and adds articles 38 and 102 of the Political Constitution of the State, regarding the suspension of rights to hold public office, to be effective in the 2023-2024 electoral process.

“Yucatan was the first state in the Republic to legislate in this matter, subsequently other states already legislate in matters of political violence and alimony debtors, preventing these people from holding public office,” she said.

González Martín recalled that in June 2022 the reform was unanimously approved, being a historic event for modern democracy.
