PROGRESO, Yucatan, May 2, 2023. With the purpose of continuing to carry out actions to strengthen the security of Progreso and the police stations, Mayor Julián Zacarías Curi visited the Directorate of Public Security and Transit (DSPT) to deliver 2 new patrol cars that were recently delivered by Governor Mauricio Vila, as part of the support granted by the State Government for security in the municipalities, and which are now added to the vehicle fleet of the municipality.

As part of his visit to the DSPT, the mayor also toured the Control, Communication and Video Surveillance Center, where he mentioned “This surveillance center represents a great advance in the security strategy of the municipality, as it makes it possible to identify risk situations in time and act in a timely manner”.

It is worth mentioning that the Control Center, Communication and Video Surveillance Unit was inaugurated in March 2022 and is linked to the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP). This site has 24 screens to receive the C5 mirror and 2 screens to monitor the 300 cameras throughout the municipality. The work carried out in this space represents a benefit for 65 thousand inhabitants of Progreso and visitors.

Finally, Zacarías Curi thanked the work and commitment of the elements, and reiterated the teamwork for security between the Municipal Police and the citizens, so he invited to contact the municipal corporation in any case of emergency at 969 935 00 26.
