Parents of the students of the elementary school “Niño Artillero” of Hacienda Tekat in the municipality of Mocochá staged a sit-in and closed the facilities of the school because for six months the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has cut off their electricity, causing severe problems, including those related to health and the severe heat that prevails during this season.

According to the data collected, the debt for electricity consumption to the CFE amounts to approximately 150 thousand pesos and dates back to 2014.

According to what was explained, electricity is seasonally reconnected by means of “little devils” but the federal company returns and cuts it off again, which causes a series of problems to the students and teachers of the school since they do not have electricity supply.

As a result, it is not possible to connect the pump that raises the water to the water tanks and to clean the classrooms and bathrooms, as well as for the consumption of other areas, including the operation of the fans.

In this regard, the school principal explained that she has already reported this anomaly to the Secretary of Education of the State Government (SEGEY) who has only sent an electrician to install a new “diablito”.

“The only thing they have said is that we have to hold on like good warriors,” reported school personnel.
