Santa Claus, also known as Papá Noel, has arrived in Mérida to vacation in Las Coloradas and Tizimín.
William Guiol, hailing from Canada and better known as Papá Noel, arrived at the Mérida International Airport to spend a few days in Tizimín.
Dressed in his Christmas hat and red sweater, the Canadian Santa Claus took photos with several airport visitors.
During his stay at the airport, he expressed that, for him, the best Christmas decoration that can exist is the smile of children who live in difficult conditions, both economically and emotionally.
According to Guiol, the children who receive a gift express their happiness with a big smile.
It is worth mentioning that Guiol is not only recognized as Papá Noel for his appearance but also considers himself as such. In addition, he is associated with the foundation ‘Santa Claus Without Borders, based in Canada,’ which was created in 2017 in Mexico City to bring joy to children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Before leaving the airport, the Canadian stated that Christmas is a season that should be remembered with affection. Therefore, they make an effort to provide an unforgettable experience for children from low-income communities in Aguascalientes and Michoacán.
