Progreso City Council carries out intense campaign of canine and feline sterilization

With the purpose of promoting animal welfare and offering alternatives accessible to all pet owners, the Progreso City Council, in coordination with the State Government, carried out a free campaign of canine and feline sterilization. During this campaign, 15 cats and 25 dogs received attention.

In addition to these campaigns, which take place approximately once a month, the Ecology Department of the municipality also provides permanent low-cost sterilization services for pets. In just this month alone, we performed 100 sterilizations.

Another service promoted by this department is the responsible adoption of pets. So far in May, nine adoptions have been successfully completed, and the goal is to provide more and more animals with a new home. In that regard, we invite all interested families to come to 19th Street, between 18th and 20th Streets in the Héctor Victoria subdivision of Progreso, or call the phone number 9691039332 to obtain more information.
