

The Federal Attorney General’s Office for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA) in Yucatan secured 17 white-fronted parrots in the state, where no further details were disclosed, Through its official Facebook account, the Attorney General’s Office announced that 17 white-fronted parrots (Amazona albifrons) were received at the Yucatan headquarters.
The 17 specimens were in good physical condition at the time of being secured, so any animal violence was ruled out.
According to PROFEPA, the birds will be transferred to a specialized center in Mexico to receive the necessary attention and care.
On the other hand, in the Yucatan Peninsula, an anteater reported in the municipality of Dzitbalché in the state of Campeche was relocated.
The anteater was found inside a warehouse, where it was in good health, with no visible wounds or signs of mistreatment.
PROFEPA captured the anteater to be transferred to a subcaducifolia forest area within a Natural Protected Area in the state.
