The governor of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila Dosal, and the mayor of Mérida, Renán Barrera Concha, conducted a tour to supervise the progress of the construction of the first Public Veterinary Hospital in the entire Southeast region. This project represents a joint investment of over 20,107,437 pesos.
At the site located in the western part of the city, they inspected the structural work of this space that aims to contribute to the improvement of animal welfare infrastructure.
In this project, the government is contributing 12,490,558 pesos for the construction of the veterinary clinic, administrative area, dog shelter, walkways, substation, electrical installation, and public lighting.
Meanwhile, the municipality is contributing 7,616,879 pesos for the construction of the storage area, laundry, dining area, bathrooms, morgue, parking lot, signage, storm drainage, and animal recreational and green areas.
The project, which covers an area of 1,600 square meters, is currently 45% complete and will be located on a 10,000-square-meter plot of land.
The building’s structure will be ready by the end of July, and in a second phase, it will be equipped with furnishings and equipment.
