Mérida will have a new theater where the municipality can offer or host cultural events. It will be located on the second floor of the Municipal Dance Center (CMD), informed the mayor Renán Barrera Concha.
Interviewed at the end of the presentation of the Olympus Season, the mayor said that the design of the original project of the CMD, allows a new space to be built on top so that the people of Merida can enjoy the local culture and the shows that come to the city.
He specified that the theater will have a capacity for 180 people and the investment is minimal, since the infrastructure is ready.
He assured that it was only necessary to equip the space with lighting, sound, stage infrastructure and install seats; as little is required, its inauguration is planned within approximately 60 days. Barrera Concha said that Olympus Season events can be held at this venue, particularly those that take place in September.
“It will be a new venue and above all for the service of the artistic community ”, concluded the Mayor.
