CELESTÚN, Yucatan, April 24, 2023.- During the weekend, the group of explorers formed by Urbike Yucatan, Hardcore Urbex and Atanque made known through their social networks, their adventure through the Yucatan jungle to reach the Douglas DC-3 plane that is in the middle of the jungle in the municipality of Celestun, which supposedly belonged to Pablo Escobar.
They reported that their expedition took about three days, which was a great feat because the aircraft is surrounded only by weeds and puddles for several meters around, so when they arrived they went all over the place and took several photographs.
There are many versions of this story and although one of them is that it belonged to the Colombian drug trafficker Pablo Escobar, the data suggest that this could not be true, since it seems that the plane crashed in Yucatan in August 1966, when the drug lord was 17 years old.
Other versions suggest that it was an illegal flight that had a mechanical failure and was abandoned in the jungle.
