CAMPECHE.- Parents are furious about the increase of cable theft in schools, which has left 53 schools with power problems and has students suffering because they must tolerate the intense temperatures.

This was confirmed by the head of Seduc, Raul Pozos Lanz, who regretted these figures that have accumulated this year 2023 and which almost compares to those registered last year when 73 schools were affected.

In view of this, families insisted again to the authorities to hire security guards to be in charge of guarding the schools at night and in the early hours of the morning, since thieves are ravaging these institutions because the meters of cable are what brings them the most money.

Likewise, they consider that patrols are urgently needed in these areas, since it is essential that at least there is a presence of agents¿ so that criminals think twice before committing their misdeeds, as well as to provide peace and tranquility to the people of Campeche.

There are 1,600 schools located throughout the state, which are at the mercy of the underworld, a situation which not only affects the infrastructure, as there are important economic losses after each robbery, but also children and teachers suffer from damages such as electricity.
