26 year old young woman dies from dengue hemorrhagic fever in Peto, Yucatan

A young woman died in the municipality of Peto after feeling sick for several days, but when she went to a health center, she was told that she had dengue hemorrhagic fever.

According to the report, the young woman, a resident of 28th and 41st street in Peto, had been feeling sick for several days and had a high fever, so she went to consult a doctor.

Upon analysis, the doctor indicated that she was suffering from dengue hemorrhagic fever, causing her death as a result of the disease transmitted by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.

Unofficially, it was reported that at least five cases of classic dengue have been detected in Peto, with the probability of an increase before the 2023 Rainy Season in Yucatan.

In 2022, according to the Epidemiological Surveillance System (Sinave), two deaths due to dengue were registered in Yucatan, as well as 423 cases in the state.

As will be recalled, the 2023 Rainy Season begins between the months of April and November, being the time when dengue cases increase.
