In the middle of the Easter vacations, a foreign woman was caught carrying a rifle while walking along the beaches of Chicxulub Puerto, in Progreso, Yucatan, which caused alarm among the locals.

Vacationers noticed this fact at kilometer 12.5 of the coastal highway, and proceeded to record the facts in videos that were later disseminated on social networks.

The recording shows the woman walking along the beach in the company of a man and her pets while carrying the rifle on her back, which many people considered could be a firearm for the exclusive use of the Army and would be prohibited.

Dozens of people alerted the authorities so that security officers arrived and interviewed the woman, even, in a video captured at that moment, the police officers can be seen asking these people not to take out their weapon and warning them that, in case of a repetition of the incident, the intervention of the National Guard will be necessary.

The Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) informed that, in the statement, the tourist stated that it was a diabolo rifle, a version that was confirmed after examining the weapon, the woman also stated that she used it for hunting birds, however, they decided to retain the weapon.

It was reported that the couple lives in a house in the Chicxulub area, where they were photographed and recorded with a cell phone by people who were on the beach and were frightened to see the scene of these people with their dogs.

In the end, it was known that it was a pellets rifle and the local authorities did not proceed against the woman.
