After finalizing the sale of season tickets for the rest of the current concert season of the Yucatán Symphony Orchestra (OSY), yesterday at 10 a.m. the sale to the general public began both at the box office and online.
Mr. Raúl Gómez Canto was among the first to arrive at the box office installed at the Palacio de la Música, where the concerts will take place in this new stage of the Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro José Areán.
Approached after getting his tickets, Gómez Canto pointed out that he has always liked the Orchestra’s concerts for their quality and the repertoire they perform.
“Let’s hope that the quality of the Symphony is maintained. I feel that (José Areán) is a good conductor with experience,” he said, after noting that the attention when buying his tickets was very good.
About the Palacio de la Música, where the OSY moved to after the fire at the Teatro Peón Contreras last November 1, he admitted that he has not been there before for an event. “I don’t know it, it’s the first time I’ve been there.”
Presentations
As we published, the Orchestra’s first presentation will be on Friday 28 at the Plaza Grande with a free concert, and it will be on Sunday 30 when it will offer its first concert at the Palacio de la Música, with a ticket. On that day, the orchestra will offer a special program dedicated to children.
The presentations will continue on May 4 in Valladolid, where the group will have two performances.
Afterwards, the academic part of the season will begin, in which the group will perform works by Claude Debussy, Antonin Dvorak, Piotr Tchaikovsky, Bela Bártok and Pedro Carlos Herrera, among other well-known composers.
The box office will be open Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on Sundays (only when there is a concert) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.sinfonicadeyucatan.com.mx. For more information, please call 9999-23-13-13.
