Family’s trip to Celestún ends up in disaster

A family from Halachó who went on a trip to the beach in Celestún on the last day of the Easter holiday period ended up injured in a traffic accident.

The incident occurred around 4 pm yesterday on kilometer 89 of the Mérida-Celestún highway, in the Kinchil-Celestún section, where the Chrysler Voyager van with Quintana Roo license plates driven by José C. lost control of its steering wheel while traveling from Celestún to Kinchil after one of its tires was punctured.

In the accident, all 8 relatives of the driver were injured and were evaluated and transported to the Agustín O’Horán Hospital by paramedics from the SSP, Red Cross, and Celestún Municipal Police.
