MÉRIDA, Yucatan, April 2, 2023.- After three years without service due to the floods of 2020 and the Covid-19 pandemic, the pools of the Acuaparque, in Vergel, will reopen to the public this coming week, informed workers at the site.

Personnel who were working on cleaning the area mentioned that the pools will open this week, possibly on Holy Thursday, and that the boat rides will also be reactivated.

Municipal personnel has been cleaning this place, located in the eastern part of the state, as well as painting the pools and the stones that mark the different paths, as well as the benches where picnics can be held.

The pools will be open from 10 am to 5 pm and those who come to swim are asked to wear shorts or bathing suits, to rinse off before entering, and that minors are accompanied by an adult.

It should be noted that this place remained closed due to the Covid 19 pandemic and the floods that occurred in 2020, since the water level reached up to four meters high, covering roads, bridges, the playground, and some trees.

However, since the water level has returned to normal, the park received a general makeover and cleaning, but the cleaning, painting, and maintenance works were intensified last week so that everything is ready to start operating as soon as possible.

So exciting news! I adore Merida’s Aquapark pools. Looking forward to visit coming season. Even though the water park is geared toward kids and has adorable fiber glass springs molded into animals like toucans, many adults could be spotted joining in the fun.
