The Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) of Yucatán announced that 162 undocumented migrants from Vietnam, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Haiti, Cuba and Guatemala were secured.

According to the agency, the location of the foreigners occurred after preventive security checks at SSP checkpoints at the entrances and exits of Yucatán.

“Two tourist-type buses were detained, carrying a total of 162 foreigners of six different nationalities, including seven minors,” the agency said in a statement.

The agency pointed out that the bus drivers were originally from the state of Tabasco.

After the location, the foreigners were handed over to the National Migration Institute (INM) and the Mexican drivers to the State Attorney General’s Office.
