MÉRIDA, Yucatan – At the launch this Friday of the Bilingual Environments and Coverage programs for students to learn English, the state government announced other benefits for teachers to improve their English.

At the launching of these programs, Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal informed that the Slang teaching platform was made available to teachers so that they can continue their training through a 10-month English didactic course at a cost of 70 pesos.

For those who complete the course, the State Government will reimburse the investment.

He also informed that in 2024, the International Mobility program will open its call so that 10% of the total of those sent to universities will be teachers and will be able to improve their language skills.

Bilingual and Coverage Environments
This Friday, Mauricio Vila led the launch of the Bilingual Environments and Coverage programs, which in the first phase will serve more than 55,200 preschool and elementary school students in 30 strategic municipalities of the State.

The Bilingual Environments program involves 865 teachers and is serving 20,600 students in 188 preschools and elementary schools in 8 selected municipalities, in which teachers in charge of the group and/or support teachers of artistic education and physical education voluntarily join the strategy with the objective of creating environments that lay the foundations for students to develop skills in this second language.
