Merida, Yucatan, March 7, 2023 – Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal called for peaceful and civic marches to take place this Wednesday, March 8, on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

In the framework of the signing of the collaboration agreement between the State Government and the Judiciary, he hoped that “many women will come out to march and help us to make this issue visible”.

He added that women who work in the State Government and who wish to attend the march are free to do so.

“In Yucatan, we want to do things right and we want to make sure that those who violate women’s rights, for whatever reason, do not get away with it. We have sent an initiative and it will be up to Congress to decide if they accept it or not”.
