Mexico City, March 26, 2023.- To continue consolidating itself as a destination, increasing the number of visitors, economic spillover, and job generation, Yucatan participated in the 47th edition of the Tianguis Turístico de México (TTM) 2023, which is being held for the first time in the country’s capital and whose inauguration was attended this Sunday by Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal.

At the Citibanamex Center, together with the federal Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués, and the head of the Mexico City Government, Claudia Sheinbaum, Vila Dosal participated in the opening ceremony of the Tianguis Turístico, which will be held from March 26 to 29 and will feature the participation of the 32 states of the country, 70 countries, 5 continents, as well as more than 600 exhibitors and 700 buyers.

During his participation in the Tianguis Turístico, Vila Dosal was accompanied by the governors of Puebla, Sergio Salomón Céspedes; of Oaxaca, Salomón Jara Cruz; of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda; of Campeche, Layda Sansores; of Morelos, Cuauhtémoc Blanco; of Quintana Roo, María Elena Lezama Espinosa; of Sonora, Alfonsina Durazo Montaño; of Guerrero, Evelyn Salgado Pineda; and of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya.

In his turn, the head of the federal Ministry of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués, called for tourism to be a tool for social reconciliation, to boost local economies and promote sustainable development at all levels, because it can be a lever for social, economic and social development.

On this occasion Yucatán is participating with a series of activations that portray part of the state’s gastronomy, culture and art, including the cochinita pibil food truck, branding inside Citibanamex, OOH Yucatán, kaleidoscope, gastronomic zone, photo opportunity, Yucatán pavilion, tastings and samplings.

Yucatan’s activities kicked off this Saturday with the “Yucatruck”, a food truck that will bring the city’s inhabitants and visitors the unique and original flavor of cochinita pibil tacos, to promote the destination through the flavors, smells, and colors of Yucatan and thus generate more visitors to the state.

The “Yucatruck”, which will be at six strategic points in the CDMX, will hand out 12,000 free cochinita tacos, formally kicking off Yucatán’s activities at the 47th edition of the Tianguis Turístico to be held March 26-29 at Centro Citibanamex.

From March 25 to March 28, the “Yucatruck” will be handing out these Yucatecan delicacies at Parque México, Polanco, Plaza Carso in front of the Soumaya Museum, Parque España, Avenida Álvaro Obregón, World Trade Center and Parque Delta, from 10 am to 12 pm and from 1 pm to 3 pm.

Let’s remember that the state continues its celebrations for the Year of Yucatecan Gastronomy, which began in July 2022, and whose objective is to promote the state through its millenary flavors and traditions, such as the culinary offerings of chef and cook, Pedro Medina Casanova, from Taqueria La Lupita, recognized for having an extraordinary flavor in traditional dishes in the Yucatecan capital.

After the protocol ceremony, the Governor supervised the Yucatan stand, which was inaugurated this Monday, March 27th, and also toured the tourism pavilion where all the states will exhibit their products and services during the Tianguis.
