UNAM will revoke Minister Yasmín Esquivel´s degree for plagiarism

March 30, 2023.- After the scandal over the plagiarism of Minister Yasmín Esquivel’s professional thesis exhibited last December, the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) is preparing to invalidate her law degree.

As published by Radiofórmula on its website, sources from the highest house of studies told their reporter Héctor Herrera that the institution is preparing to invalidate the minister’s title, after this Thursday the UNAM University Council approved modifying reforms to the General Statute that , in its article 5, it indicates that the highest house of studies can now declare the absolute nullity of certificates, professional titles and degrees, when the academic and ethical requirements have not been fully covered.
