Trump believes he will be arrested and calls for a massive protest to support him

Donald Trump, former US Republican president (2017-2021), said Saturday that he believes he will be arrested on Tuesday as part of an investigation into the payment of money to porn star Stormy Daniels and called on citizens to protest.

Protest, take back our nation,” he said on his social network Truth Social without specifying the reason for that arrest.

Trump’s message uses a rhetoric reminiscent of the one he used in the days before the assault on the Capitol, in January 2021, when he had also called on his supporters to demonstrate against the results of the elections in which he was defeated by Joe Biden.

The former president based his information on “illegal leaks from a corrupt and highly politicized Manhattan district attorney’s office that has allowed new records to be set in violent crime and whose leader is funded by George Soros.

According to her, she added in her message, “the leading Republican candidate and former President of the United States will be arrested on Tuesday (…) without any crime being proven and based on an old and completely disproven (by many other prosecutors) fairy tale“.

The Manhattan investigation, which has lasted nearly five years, centers on an alleged $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence during his 2016 White House election campaign.

The secret payment allegedly sought to prevent her from going public about an alleged sexual relationship with the then-presidential candidate.
