Travel agencies report a 19% growth in the recovery of tourism, driven mainly by tourism from the United States, which represents close to 90% of arrivals, that is, the most important tourism for Mexican Caribbean destinations.

Giuseppe Casulli, in charge of customer service for Amstar, one of the largest travel agencies, detailed that in the last three months they have had a sustained growth with more than 100 thousand passengers transported.

He said that the main challenge is sargasso, above security, since the latter issue is not stopping visitors seeking to vacation in Quintana Roo destinations.

During these months they have had more visitors from groups, weddings and incentives, and now that the Holy Week season is coming, they will be working with family visitors and the national market.

The reopening of other destinations is not seen as competition to the flow of visitors to Quintana Roo, since tourists continue to choose these destinations for vacations, although it is necessary to innovate in order to attract more tourists.

He said that rates have even recovered an average of 5% in the different tours, which is also positive for the companies.

According to him, travelers are still looking to take some tours on their vacations, which is very positive and will continue to detonate the market, so they expect the good rhythm Quintana Roo is maintaining to continue.

For these first two months of the year, the Cancun Airport had a growth trend of 27%, which benefits the sector.
