There are still 54,519 voters in Yucatán who have not gone to a citizen attention module to request that their voter credential be updated to reflect the new code of the electoral section that corresponds to them, after the reclassification program.
The changes took place in Merida and four other municipalities.
Eliezer Serrano Rodríguez, vocal of the Federal Registry of Voters (RFE) in Yucatán, recalled that initially there were 60,000 voters who changed sections, so they will no longer vote in the 2024 elections where they did in the past electoral processes.
Having the updated mica will help citizens to identify more quickly the place where the polling place where they will have to vote in 2024 will be located.
Thousands still have not changed their credential in Yucatán
There are 54,519 voters in Yucatán who have not gone to the citizen attention modules to request that their INE voter’s credential be updated due to the electoral resequencing program, informed Eliezer Serrano Rodríguez, vocal of the Federal Registry of Voters (RFE) in the State.
In order to offer a better orientation, he exposed the following references to help identify the credentials to be updated, specifying that they are the ones that belong to these sections:
Section 261, in the north of the city, adjacent to the Periferico, it mainly covers the colonias Sol Campestre, Montebello and a part of the Mexico Norte; Section 303: to the east of the city and corresponds to the colonia Poligono 108.
Section 625: located south of the city, bordering the entire southern part around the airport and the peripheral road, including the neighborhoods of Emiliano Zapata Sur I and II, Roble Agrícola, San Antonio Xluch III, El Renacimiento, San Marcos and San Luis Sur Dzununcán.
Also, section 637: located in the north of the city, to the east of the road that leads to Progreso, and covers the entire area of the Chablekal police station; section 649: to the south of the city, after the Periferico and covers the Plan de Ayala Sur neighborhood; section 1110: in the westernmost area of the zone corresponding to Ciudad Caucel, south of the Caucel-Ucú road, in the part adjacent to Ucú.
Section 62: in the area southwest of Conkal, adjacent to Mérida and west of the road leading to Chicxulub Puerto; section 81: the entire area in the quadrant corresponding to the southwest part of Chemax.
Section 219: part of Kanasín adjacent to the Merida peripheral and south of Fraccionamiento Los Héroes, and section 1000: the entire area located in the southeast quadrant of Umán.
Serrano Rodríguez reminded citizens that the resectioning in no way affects the validity and validity as a means of identification of those credentials that correspond to the updated sections.
However, having the electoral document updated will help citizens to identify more quickly the location of the polling place where they will have to go to vote on election day.
