MÉRIDA, Yucatan, March 26, 2023 – In the Emiliano Zapata Sur neighborhood, Joaquín Díaz Mena, the Delegate of Welfare, shared information about the programs of the Government of Mexico and staff from the delegation attended to the neighbors. The Delegate told the neighbors about the “Pension for the Elderly” program and also highlighted that currently $4,800 pesos are given, but in January 2024 this support will increase to 6,000 pesos.

He also provided information on the “Pension for People with Disabilities” program, with which beneficiaries receive a support of $2,950 pesos, mentioning that work is being done to make this program universal, so that all people with disabilities can have access to it.

Diaz Mena also spoke about the “Children of Working Mothers” program, which is aimed at women (regardless of their marital status) so that with the support received they can pay someone to help them take care of their children when they have to go out to support the household.

In the presence of the coordinators, Huacho explained to the neighbors that another very important program is the one aimed at students: “Becas Benito Juarez”, which already benefits more than 240 thousand Yucatecan families.
