The laying of sleepers and ballast began in the works of the Mayan Train section 5 South, with which the federal work is outlined to enter its final phase of construction to be delivered this year.

Consulted workers from the junction of section 5 South and section 5 North, said that this month they began to place the blocks on the basalt stone, which can already be seen in the form of a railway track.

It is the first time that the track as such has been observed along which it has been ensured that the wagons of the Mayan Train will run in this same 2023. The place where such infrastructure can already be observed is at the access to the sanitary landfill, about 12 kilometers from the center of Playa del Carmen.

That is, this occurs in the place where the clearing for the Mayan Train section 5 began, at the end of February 2022. It is the most advanced point with the work of the entire federal project, this because last year workers began the clearing there from Grupo México Acciona, a company that at the time had the tender, to carry out the building.

Currently, according to information released from the central level, members of the Mexican company Ingenieros Civiles y Asociados (ICA) carry out work at the site.

Recently, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that it will be in July of this year when they will start testing the first locomotive that will arrive in Quintana Roo territory.

The project will be inaugurated in December, which in Quintana Roo has four sections: 4, 5, 6 and 7.

At the same time, expropriations continue. This Thursday, various properties in various municipalities, including Solidaridad, were announced for reasons of public utility.

According to a publication made yesterday in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), it is a total of 352 thousand 423 square meters that will become part of the federal domain for the passage of the Mayan Train. 10 properties in Solidaridad, six in Bacalar and two in Escárcega, in the state of Campeche.
