Unbelievable, but true. In a Facebook account called “Arkasas”, they market a property with ancient Maya buildings and archaeological vestiges in the state of Yucatan.
The publication mentions that a ranch or land is for sale in Uxmal, which is only 10 minutes away from the archaeological zone.
“The property has pyramids and most of the land is flat”, says the publication, which provides more details about the place, which has an extension of 249 hectares and is private property. The cost is 18 million pesos.
The same publication shows two photographs, in which a Mayan building can be seen.
In another image, a plaque on the floor reads: “Ikipche, Bonn University, Germany, INAH, Inv, Archaeological 1990-1997, 2002-04”.
The National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) in Yucatán has been asked for a position on the situation and the sale of this archaeological site.
It is important to remember that INAH currently has a program of rescue, exploration and conservation of Maya cities due to the construction of the Maya Train that will pass through Yucatan; the same site of Uxmal and Oxkintok that is located in the area is currently undergoing this process.
