MÉRIDA, Yuc.- This Wednesday in the “Gabriel García Márquez” kindergarten, in the Roble Agrícola II neighborhood of Mérida, a terrible tragedy happened, since a janitor died after falling from a ladder while putting up a tarpaulin.
The janitor Federico “N”, 57, was on top of a ladder at a considerable height, which he climbed to place a tarpaulin, which would serve to cover the students from the sun during the school festival that would take place this Friday.
Unfortunately, while he was performing these maneuvers, there was a strong wind that caused Federico to lose his balance and a rope got tangled around his feet, causing him to fall into the void.
Upon hitting the floor, the blow was deadly, so students and teachers were scared to see the man in that state.
After the 9-1-1 call, paramedics arrived at the campus but only to confirm that Don Federico no longer had vital signs.
The area was cordoned off pending the elements of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) for legal proceedings.
