Feminists vandalize Mérida’s government palace

Women protesters damage the Government Palace

Mérida, Yucatán, March 8, 2023.- Hooded women threw down the fences installed on the outskirts of the Government Palace and proceeded to break, paint and try to burn windows, columns and walls of this historical building.

During the march on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the demonstrators burned posters and left destruction throughout the state Executive headquarters to demand justice.

The contingent of women confronted the public security elements that guarded the compound, pushing, insulting, and shouting in unison, trying to enter by force.

Not being able to enter, they attacked state elements, broke windows and set fire, causing an uproar among the attendees.
