To finish the Maya Train in November, the head of the Campeche Ministry of Tourism, Mauricio Arceo Piña, affirmed that they will take advantage of the Tianguis Turístico de México -next week- to promote the municipalities most impacted by the project, pointing out that it will be the largest representation committee in the history of Campeche’s participation in the Tianguis.
The official highlighted that primarily the strong point is the tourist product already developed in beaches, spas and cenotes, as in Champotón; but the main support will be the Mayan Train and the hotels that will apparently start operating along with the train, since it is a national tourist product that will support the tourist spots along the way.
“Undoubtedly there are already interesting tourist products in the entity, such as Isla Arena and its crocodile farm in Calkiní, the cenotes in Champotón, Isla Aguada and its maritime tours, the beaches of Sabancuy, Seybaplaya, Playa Bonita in Campeche, Champotón, besides well-located hotels, that is, we are a paradisiacal destination, and we will also focus on that,” he said.
However, he acknowledged that it is time to give space to the Mayan Train and what it will bring with it, “more hotels, more services, greater gastronomic opportunity, proximity to communities and magical towns, in addition to the interest of decreeing more places with this title, that is, there is work to be done and we will do it well,” said the official.
For this event, there will be more than 50 people from the municipalities where there will be the greatest impact of the Mayan Train, among them Campeche, because without forgetting the theme of Easter, they will project what is coming, “which will give importance to Campeche beyond Yucatan and Quintana Roo, because it is not only to attract travel agencies, but we are going to knock on the door of entrepreneurs to put the entity as a place of investment,” he said.
“We are making synergy, for the good of Campeche, developing equally the economic part but also the tourism, so we will have results in the short, medium and long term, with ways to give more growth to tourism in Campeche,” he said.
