An ocelot is seen walking through the streets of Cansahcab, Yucatan

On 31 x 26 and 28 streets, in Cansahcab, a feline (ocelot) was wandering on the grounds of the Cetz Cauich family, which reported to the municipal police, police elements arrived at the scene.

They took on the task of capturing the wild animal together with the family, they had captured the cat later, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) is informed so that they can take charge of said cat.

Among the neighbors, the surprise of the discovery did not fit since it is not common for a feline to approach the population.

Other neighbors said that possibly someone had it in captivity and it escaped from them, which is why it was hanging around the residential area.

While the corresponding inquiries are being made, both Semarnat and Profepa took charge of the case. They took the cat to put it in a safe place, and to release it later in its original habitat.
